Not Amused

As of this evening I find this post at Wendwriter's Live Journal:

Comments have been posted anonymously to the post about the time I nearly took a header off a tower block. I have deleted them because this is *my* blog and I can block, delete or even post pictures of myself buck flippin' naked (unlikely!!) if I want to.

If this is true, I have one thing to say: Not cool. Not cool at all.

There were many posts on that journal that invited comment, but not that one. If this is true, and it is someone from my f-list, I am not pleased.

To Aislynn, who commented very articulately on other posts, and to the three anony-mice who replied to this morning's post of Wendwriter's entitled 'More Prune Juice,' thank you. Unfortunately, your comments have gone down the History Chute as well, although I have them on my hard drive to warm my heart.

For the record, I am not fool enough to risk my Live Journal account, or endanger those of my friends, by posting anonymously at the journal of someone who makes a hobby out of reporting others. It is quite possible that LiveJournal logs ISPs of anonymous posters, even if the journal owner does not have that option enabled. That will be proof that I did NOT make any anonymous posts to Wendwriter's journal.

Meanwhile, folks, leave the nutter alone before she makes good on her threat to post pictures of herself buck naked. I daresay no one wants that.

Thank you. As I said, I am in this with you even should dear Wendy decide to continue her little slandering war, but I would rather not see your account, or that of others here, go down.

And as much as I wanted to say a few more things to her while I still could, and didn't (because I tried my level best to stay relatively calm), and as much as I am seething now that I allowed myself to be lured into so much as even contemplating to accept her apology and her invitation into her new forum - only to find she promptly used the opportunity to make me look like a complete fool; I still think that it goes too far to make a flame comment to someone's post about a suicide attempt. That is something that makes me cringe, and wanting to *defend* Wendy - and I have to say, *that* is something that I do not want to feel right now!

And I have made no anonymous post at Wendy's life journal, either. My last posts were made logged in and dated from the fourth of October. I have followed her journal since then, but I have not posted again, there.

As for Six-Apart logging all anonymous entries, I am not sure they do. I do hope they do, because dear Wendy apparently is convinced that it had to be you and me who made these posts. Of course she never antagonized anyone else, ever, either... Whatever. I suppose we'll see.

She will never know how much I restrained myself not to pick her apart well and good in my part of the discussion. I am so glad that *you* finally did that in the one she deleted.

Whatever. Let's cease fire. For now, at least.

Me neither, which is why I took pains to be most scrupulous with this Live Journal account. As for ff.net? Meh . . .

I am seething now that I allowed myself to be lured into so much as even contemplating to accept her apology and her invitation into her new forum - only to find she promptly used the opportunity to make me look like a complete fool;

You are not alone in that -- both the seething and the being made to look like a fool. I am vexed that I allowed myself to be played like a Stradivarius, but . . . live and learn. If anything good comes out of this debacle it will be that many people DID witness it from the sidelines, and they will have seen that Wendy is not the sweet British Mumsy type she protrays herself to be while passing out tea and biscuits on her forum.

I daresay that if someone so much as breaks wind in church henceforth, Wendy will think it is you or I. From my days as a moderator on a general board, I know that ISP information can be obtained if the offense is dire enough. Since I did not even attempt to make an anonymous post, I do not know if Wendy had her ISP option enabled for anonymous posts. (Perhaps one of the anonymice could enlighten us on this?) If not, she cannot *know* it was one of us who posted at her lj after being blocked. If so, then she is . . . misrepresenting things, as has happened before.

Of course she never antagonized anyone else, ever, either...

Oh, of course not! ;) Nor did she ever keep the existence of her Live Journal secret from her numerous flamees, having mentioned it at her forum.

Whatever. Let's cease fire. For now, at least.

Let it be so. And . . . pudding pots? Really! Honey on a privy seat I will own up to, but not that! LOL

Or toads in beds? Ah, no, I forgot, that was Galion, if Memory serves...

But I did like the mention of the sharpened stakes in the ha-ha. Ah, fellow Discworld fans! Even when I do not get along with them, it is still heartwarming to meet them online. :)

Yes, that is Master Galion's story and so far he is sticking to it. I love that Elf -- probably too well, but that is another tale . . . ;)

Would you believe I have never read Discworld? (I did, however, know what a hah-ha is.) I can see I must remedy this lack forthwith.

As for reporting people, all I can say is that sort of thing works both ways. Anyone who read that post you made previously of her comaparing you to those unpleasant people would know who the real injured party is in all this.

I see she's put up a little postscript today about how nobody has posted comments to her journal so it looks like her detractors have gone away. As it is bound to look when you block all replies. On the upside, she seems to be striking up a friendship with Getty. ;-)

*blinks* See, this is what happens when I have no time to read my flist for a little while. I miss stuff. I will e-mail you.

Hmmm . . . odd. I am almost certain I answered this.

Yes, you missed a tiny war, in which one party has unilaterally stood down. But the darts are still flying in over the ha-ha as we speak. My hands are tied. I can't answer.

I miss stuff. I will e-mail you.

Yes, I would like that. :)
